Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Pixie Pink

My first 12x12 layout using Stampin' Up! products and I am really pleased with the result!  I used papers from "Sunny Day", one of the Simply Scrappin' Kits, I love these bold funky colours but don't tend to use them that often!  My background sheet was stamped using one of the tree stamps from "Trendy Trees" using Versa Mark.  All of my flowers were created either using the Punches or using the Die Cut "Blooms" as templates to draw around adding buttons and rhinestones to embellish.  I have layered these with Dimensionals as the second photograph shows.  As I don't have any of the alphabet sets yet I used a substitute for my title.  I distressed and daubered most of the edges and also paper pierced around some.  The orange shape on the right side of the layout is from the Stampin' Up! template library which I used as my journalling spot.

I am starting Scrapbooking Classes in February on a Tuesday evening, if you are interested in coming along email me on stampinkerry@aol.com and I will fill you in on all the details.  I will be posting details of my new classes in the next couple of days.

Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment so I know you visited!

Our second make and take at the Monday Card Club once again using Sale-a-Bration stamps from "Happy Moments".  We stamped the cake image and cut out using the 1 3/8" Circle punch then layered onto larger circles.  We coloured in the image using blender pens with the ink pads and daubered around the edge.  We stamped the cake for a second time and hand cut the cake without the candles and stand and layered it with a Dimensional to make it stand out.  The greeting is also from "Happy Moments" cut out with the Word Window Punch and brads attached, then layered onto the Oval Punched pieces.  The Designer Series Paper is from "Bella Bleu" and I challenged my ladies to stitch the main panel using my sewing machine and the majority did.  We added a bow using the 1/4" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain ribbon to finish.

Here are the first make and take cards we produced last night at our Monthly Card Club here in Whitminster.  I gave the ladies a choice of stamp to use with a sketch twist and their results were lovely.  The flower image on this card is from the Sale-a-Bration set "Happy Moments" which I have been using heaps recently and the greeting is from "Wow Flowers".  We coloured the image in using blender pens and ink pads and daubered around the edges for a subtle finish.  The background stamp was from the hostess set "Garden Dream", inked using the Versa Mark ink pad.  The DSP used is from "Tea & Crumpets".  The second flower is also from "Garden Dream" stamp set and the greeting from the lovely "Whimsical Words" Sale-a-Bration set.  Remember, if you spend £45 from the Catalogue you can choose one of the Sale-a-Bration sets for FREE, there are 4 exclusive sets to choose from.  This promotion will run until 28th February 2010.

Making a Difference for Haiti

On January 12, 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti, leaving in its wake devastation so overwhelming that the Haitian people and their leaders can only look for help from the outside to cope. In the past, when terrorists attacked the Twin Towers, when a tsunami struck Indonesia, when a hurricane destroyed New Orleans, and when wildfires ravaged Australia, Stampin' Up! demonstrators stepped forward and showed their commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. This time is no different.

Stampin' Up! will set aside £1 from the sale of every Greenhouse Gardens stamp set and donate that money to the Red Cross’ International Response Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.
From now until 28 February, 2010, you can partner with Stampin' Up! to make a difference in the lives of those who continue to suffer from the effects of this devastating earthquake.

Something for the Men!

Just a quick post tonight as we have just waved off our dinner guests and I am ready for bed!!

I always seem to hit a brick wall when making "man" cards and I am sure I'm not alone.  I created my background using stamps from "Circle Circus" and stamped the star images on top which were from the Christmas set "Spotlight on Christmas".  I stamped these using basic black ink and then clear embossed them.  My greeting is from the Sale-a-Bration set "Vintage Labels" which is a really nice set comprising of greetings and frames.  I pierced 3 holes to the top left of my card and knotted Silver Elastic thread through the holes and added a silver brad to one of the star images.

Must get some sleep now, will be posting details of my new upcoming classes over the next couple of days.  Thanks for stopping by.

I have been so attached to the new Sale-a-bration set "Happy Moments" that I thought it was time that I inked up "Good Neighbours" and this was my fisrt attempt using them.

I think that these little houses are such fun, great for "house moving" cards but equally just as nice for general birthday cards.

You need the stamp-a-ma-jig for easy alignment of the roofs and placement of trees and clouds.  I coloured my clouds and windows using a blender pen with ink from the lid of an ink pad.  I intend to play a bit more with these so check back later to see what I come up with.  My greeting is from "Whimsical Words", another Sale-a-Bration set which can be yours for FREE when spending £45 from the Catalogue during the promotion period.  I tied Linen Thread in two buttons and attached them to the right side of my card using a Glue Dot.

Recipe:

Stamps: Good Neighbours, Whimsical Wishes
Inks: Not Quite Navy, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Old Olive, Ruby Red
Cardstock: Not Quite Navy, Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red, Bella Bleu DSP
Accessories: 1/4" Ribbon, Buttons
Tools: Oval & Oval Punches, Paper Piercer, Corner Rounder, Stamp-a-ma-jig

I stamped directly onto the Whisper White cardstock with both the image and greeting and coloured the cake using my blender pens with ink from the ink pad lids.  For interest I added 1/4" circles in Whisper White to create an embossed look.  My flower was cut using the Scallop Circle Punch and layered with the 1" and 3/4" circles and Linen Thread wrapped around them.  I attached a piece of 1 1/4 Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon in Rose Red and topped it with a Scallop Border Punch strip.  I inked all edges with Chocolate Chip using a dauber.

Happy Moments!

I am loving the Sale-a-Bration set "Happy Moments", perfect for lots of occasions and so cute!!  Another birthday for one of my daughter's friend and have made some similar ones for other birthdays coming up.

So my image is from "Happy Moments" cut out using the 1 3/8" Circle Punch which I have layered onto a scallop circle which was created using the Corner Rounder.  I coloured the flowers on the cake using a Blender Pen direct from the ink pad lid and raised using Dimensionals.  My greeting is also from "Happy Moments" and cut out with the Word Window Punch then snipped at the end.  I attached a button tied with Linen Thread using one of the Glue Dots which I find really useful.  I used the Scallop Border Punch on the Chocolate Chip and Rose Red layers.  I used the circles in a row stamp from "One of a Kind" stamp set and inked it up with Whisper White Kraft ink.  I finished with a ribbon knot attached to the top layer.

Don't forget that for every £45 you spend in the 2009/10 Idea Book & Catalogue you can earn one free Sale-a-Bration Stamp Set, there are 4 exclusive sets available.  Don't miss out on this fantastic offer.

Once again I have used the "Garden Dream" hostess set for this card.  My colours are Not Quite Navy, Kraft, Very Vanilla and "Bella Bleu" Designer Series Paper.  I stamped the flower image and coloured it using my blender pens with the ink pads.  A really simple technique and so effective.  My greeting is from the Sale-a-Bration set "Vintage Frames" which is just gorgeous, and, as you may already know, FREE if you spend £45 from the Idea Book & Catalogue!!  My greeting is framed with the Word Window Punch, layered onto an oval and scallop oval using the SU Punches adding brads to finish.  I stamped the tall flower stamp onto the designer series paper.  I used Chocolate Chip Ribbon in 1 1/4" and 5/8" to add texture.  I adhered half back pearls to 1/4" circles to balance my card using the tombow glue.

Stamps: Garden Dream (Hostess), Vintage Labels (SAB)

Whimsical Words

I have been creating a few different cards recently using "Garden Dream" a hostess set that you could earn for free if you book a home workshop.  This flower stamp is part of the 2-step stampin system but here I have just used the outline image and stamped it directly onto Designer Series Paper.  My image is from one of the Sale-a-Bration Sets "Whimsical Words" which I just love, I adore that swirly font!  The base of my card is Kraft, teamed with Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip which I used as a border with the Scallop Border Punch and pierced with the paper piercer and also a mat of "Bella Bleu" Designer Series Paper.  I stiched this mat using my sewing machine and added some flat back pearls from the Pretties Kit.  I added a strip of Not Quite Navy cardstock across the middle to break things up.  My row of dotted circles in the top left corner is from "One of a Kind" stamp set.  I tend to use this stamp often on my cards, just to finish it off!!

Recipe:
Stamps: Garden Dream (Hostess set), Whimsical Words (SAB Set)
Inks: Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla, Bella Bleu DSP
Accessories: Flat Back Pearls (Pretties Kit)

Well I dediced to have a go at the Inspiring Inkin' Challenge which can be found here http://www.inspiringinkinchallenges.blogspot.com/ and this fortnightly's challenge was the Chalkboard Technique.

Stars & Circles

I have been asked to make a 65th Male Card and here is the end result.  I used "To The Nines" Designer Series Paper and teamed it with Chocolate Chip and Sahara Sand cardstock.  The star image is from "Spotlight on Christmas" (currently on loan from my wonderful upline Jane, thanks Jane!) and I stamped these in Chocolate Chip and clear embossed them with the Heat Gun.  I used various Circle Punches to create circles to layer behind the Star images and cut out part of a 1 3/8" circle on the right side of the DSP to reveal the Chocolate Chip underneath, to which I added the number 65 in Sahara Sand card.  My "birthday wishes" greeting is from "Wow Flowers" stamp set stamped in a line using the Stamp-a-ma-jig.  The bottom edges of my card were punched using the Corner Rounder.  I finished off with a tied piece of 1/4" Chocolate Chip Ribbon.

Recipe:

Stamps: Spotlight on Christmas, Wow Flowers
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Sahara Sand, "To The Nines" DSP
Ink: Choclate Chip
Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, 1/4" Chocolate Chip Ribbon

All Things Rosy!

Rose Red has to be one of my favourite colours at the moment, might have something to do with it being slightly pink maybe!!!!  My stamped flower is from the hostess set "Garden Dream", stamped onto a circle then stamped again onto Very Vanilla and hand cut and layered with a dimensional.  The greeting is from the Sale-a-Bration set "Happy Moments" which could be yours for FREE if you spend £45 from the 2009/10 Catalgogue!  I teamed the Rose Red cardstock with Kraft and Bella Bleu Designer Series Paper, once again using up my scraps.  I stitched around the edge of the DSP with my sewing machine.  The ribbons are 3/8" Kraft Taffeta and 1" Striped Grosgrain in Rose Red which is absolutely gorgeous.  I used the Oval and Scallop Oval Punches to frame my greeting.

Recipe:

Stamps: Garden Dream (Hostess), Happy Moments (SAB)
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Rose Red
Cardstock: Kraft, Rose Red, Very Vanilla
DSP: Bella Bleu
Accessories: Taffeta Ribbon, 1" Stitched Grosgrain, Oval/Scallop Oval Punch, Word Window Punch, Eyelets

Sunday, January 10, 2010

I challenged myself today to use up some scraps of Designer Series Paper, my scraps bag is growing rapidly so felt the need to reduce it slightly!!  This DSP is from "Bella Bleu", a gorgeous pack of double sided papers that team perfectly with Kraft cardstock and surprisingly its not all Blue!!

The stamped flowers are from the hostess set "Garden Dream" which I have been playing with alot recently and the greeting is from the Sale-a-Bration set "Happy Moments" which could be yours for FREE if you spend £45 from the 2009/10 Catalogue.  I stamped the tall flower image directly onto the DSP and attached two pieces of ribbon in Chocolate Chip and Kraft at the top of the card.  I used the Word Window Punch and Oval Punch to frame my greeting.  I used the Corner Rounder Punch to edge the top edges of the card and DSP pieces and pierced holes in the top right corner.

Simply Simple

Another birthday card, quite a simple one using Perfect Plum and Pale Plum.  The background is stamped with the tall flower stamp from the Hostess Set "Garden Dream", a truly gorgeous set which has the 2-step stampin feature.  I used the Eyelet Border Punch to corner the Pale Plum layer and to edge the Perfect Plum layer then tied a piece of Silver Elastic Cord with a bow around it.  I attached two silver brads in the top right hand corner and stamped my greeting from the "Pocket Silhouettes" set onto Whisper White and punched out with the Oval Punch.  I layered the greeting onto a Punched Scallop Oval in Pale Plum.  I inked the edges in Perfect Plum ink using a dauber.

Playing with Punches

I made this card a while ago, originally as a Christening Card but it was one of many so I altered the greeting.  I saw a similar item whilst blog hopping and decided to have a go myself.  I didn't have any measurements so just guessed most of it but it is quite straight forward!  The sleeves and bottom of the dress are punched with the Eyelet Border Punch and the neckline with the Scallop Circle Punch.  My greeting was punched out with the Oval Punch and bordered with the Scallop Oval.  All edges were inked with Chocolate Chip ink and then to finish, I tied a bow with Kraft Taffeta Ribbon, really quite sweet and simple!

Just to let you know that my UPS Man delivered my parcel successfully today after 3 days in transit!!!  Poor men must wonder why us Stampin' Up! ladies are always so excited when we answer the door!

Maybe Tomorrow?

I have a few birthday's coming up so have been busy trying to be organised whilst waiting for my UPS man to deliver my order.  For two days it has been out for delivery only to be un-delivered due to "adverse weather".  I was sure he would get to me today as one of my downline Caroline received her order this morning and she's not that far away from me!!

I hope it arrives tomorrow as I have a Class on Tuesday (12th January) that I need to prepare for.  If you would like to book in, email me at stampinkerry@aol.com, same time as usual, 7.00-9.30pm in the Lounge at Whitminster Village Hall, cost is £7.50, light refreshments included, all you need to bring is some adhesive.

My card above was based on a similar sketch that we used at a recent class.  The stamps used are from "Garden Dream", a hostess set, so if you would like to get your hands on this one, give me a call to book a workshop and learn how to receive free stamp sets and free merchandise from the Catalogue.  I have used Perfect Plum and Pale Plum cardstocks and inks.  The greeting is from "Pocket Silhouettes" and cut out using the Oval and Scallop Oval Punches.  I used the Eyelet Border Punch to create shaped corners on the Pale Plum layer and also to edge the Perfect Plum layer.  I attached Silver Elastic Cord behind the greeting for added texture.  The background is stamped with the small flower stamp from "Garden Dream".  My card base is Whisper White.
